Summer Learning 2026
Come join our fun and engaging summer learning programs where students can explore new interests, learn new skills, review or preview academic courses or complete a full credit course.
Take note of the following tips and registration dates so that your child does not miss out on a variety of interesting and enriching learning experiences.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for Ministry-funded courses in British Columbia.
- are currently attending Kindergarten to Grade 12 at a school (public or private)*, in British Columbia;
- have not graduated and are under 19 years old on June 30, 2026;
- are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or convention refugee/refugee claimant;
- along with their parent/guardian(s), are ordinarily resident in British Columbia;
- whose parent has been lawfully admitted to Canada for temporary residence, and is authorized to work for a period of one year or more, and is/will be employed for at least 20 hours per week;
- whose parent is authorized to study for a period of one year or more and holds a valid study permit.
International students who hold a valid study permit and reside in BC (but whose parents do not normally reside in BC) may attend Summer Learning for a fee.
** ALL Students who attend a public school outside of Richmond OR a private school within BC must provide the following documentation in person or by email to rce@sd38.bc.ca (e.g. residency and status in Canada) WITHIN 48 hours AFTER having successfully registered for courses, to verify that they can take summer learning tuition-free. If preferred, documents may be presented in person at our Continuing Education office (12091 Cambie Road, Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri, 8:30 am-3:30 pm and Tues, 8:30 am-8:30 pm).
- Student's proof of status in Canada - Canadian birth certificate or passport; PR card; refugee documents; valid study permit; and
- Parent's proof of status in Canada - Canadian birth certificate or passport; PR card; refugee documents; valid work permit and BC employment letter with two current paystubs; valid study permit; and
- Parent's proof of residency in BC - BC Services card; BC ID card; BC Driver Licence; utility bill.
REGISTRATION TIPS
- Use a desktop computer or laptop, instead of a phone, to register.
- A number of our courses fill up very quickly. Be sure to log in prior to registration day to ensure that your log in credentials and personal information are up-to-date.
- Elementary school-aged students may enroll in ONE (1) Enrichment course, according to the grade level that they will be entering in September 2025.
- Secondary school students (including current Grade 7s going into Grade 8) may enroll in up to THREE (3) courses under Secondary Enrichment Programs and/or Academic Full Credit (Gr 10-12).
- All international students with valid BC Study Permits will be charged tuition fees and may take one or more courses.
- Students may enroll in ONE or MORE fee-based summer camps, in addition to the above.
- If a course is full, students may add their name to the waitlist. We ask that students consider courses carefully and put their name on a maximum of six (6) waitlists only. Waitlisted students/parents will be contacted by As space becomes available (until July 11), parents/students will be contacted by phone or email. Take note of our number 604-668-6123 in case we call so that your child doesn't miss out. As our waitlists can be long, if we do not hear back within 24 hours, we will need to move on to the next waitlisted student. To withdraw from a waitlist, please call 604-668-6123 or email rce@sd38.bc.ca.
REGISTRATION HOW-TO
STEP 1: Students need a profile (account) BEFORE registering
- Returning students: Students who have enrolled in Summer Learning or Richmond Continuing Education (youth/children) programs in the past may already have a profile (account). Check that you have current log in information and password, and that your status has not changed (PR/Refugee/Canadian Citizen/Study Permit/Parent Work Permit).
- New students: Students who have not enrolled in previous years, click here to create a profile: Create an Account. Be sure to use student's full legal name (usual name in brackets).
- Household Profiles: If there is more than one child in a household to register, parents may first create an account for themselves, then choose Add New Family Member. This will make it easier to register multiple children on registration days.

ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS (3-week) - Mon July 6 to Fri July 24 - Registration begins at 7 pm on Tues April 7
ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS (4-week) - Mon July 6 to Fri July 31 - Registration begins at 7 pm on Tues April 7
SECONDARY ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS - Mon July 6 to Fri July 31 - Registration begins at 7 pm on Mon April 13
ACADEMIC FULL CREDIT - Thurs July 2 to Fri July 31 - Registration begins at 7 pm on Wed May 6 (Gr 12 courses); Thurs May 7 (Gr 11 courses); Fri May 8 (Gr 10 courses)
STEP 3: REGISTER ONLINE
- Click on "CLICK HERE TO REGISTER" icon. Find the course that you are registering for, under each of the headings “Elementary Enrichment”, “Academic Full Credit”, etc. Or search by keyword. in a course name.
- Register for the course by clicking on ENROLL NOW. You will be prompted to enter your Login Name and Password.
- Select the name of the participant of the course. Select ADD TO CART, then CHECKOUT. You will be prompted to answer some custom questions, including student's current school attending, Personal Education Number, health or academic support needs.
- Process payment of course/camp fees by credit card, as required.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Registration fees are charged according to student's status at the time of registration and will not be refunded should student status change between time of registration and course start.
- If a course is full, students may add their name to the waitlist. Simply click on the course name and "+Add to Waitlist". We ask that students consider courses carefully and only put their name on a maximum of six (6) waitlists. - Once you have completed the transaction (successfully registered or waitlisted), you will receive a transaction receipt via email from Richmond Continuing Education (ce.sd38.bc.ca).

Summer Learning 2026 courses and camps will be taught in-person and student attendance is required.
